Mr Piyush Patel BDS Glasgow (GDC No 73064)
Piy qualified from Glasgow Dental School in 1997 with a Bachelor of Dental surgery. He is accredited by the General Dental Council. Upon completing his degree he continued his vocation through residencies in Glasgow Dental Hospital and Newcastle Royal Infirmary and Dental Hospital, concentrating in the specialty of oral surgery and prosthodontics. In 2000 he achieved a diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS). He also holds a Certificate in Advanced Surgical & Prosthodontic Implantology from the Eastman Dental Institute.
Piyush has also completed a certificate and the final stages of a diploma in advanced restorative and aesthetic dentistry. His special interests are in cosmetic facial and dental aesthetics, placing and restoring dental implants and offering facial cosmetics using dermal fillers and botox™ type treatments.
Outside of his profession, Piy is a family man with two very active boys that keep him busy. He also enjoys travelling and has visited many places throughout the world. He has an active social lifestyle, loves sports such as football, rugby and cricket and hopes that one day he will have time to improve his golf.
Mr Geof Foldys BDS Dundee (GDC No 60079)
Geof, originally from Lytham St Anne’s, has practised at West Road for over 25 years. As the principle he firmly believes that modern dentistry should be focused on what you, the patient, wants; that with up to date preventative care, treatments should be fewer, quicker and easier and that the results should look brilliant.
Geof has a family of three and when he is not acting as a taxis to the children he umpires for the Everards Cricket League. He also plays bridge in the Leicestershire league.
Mr Mike Martin BDS Sheffield (GDC No 60953)
Mike qualified in Sheffield in 1985 and has been with us for 14 years. He firmly believes in life long learning. He obtained an MBA from the University of Nottingham in 1995 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice from the Eastman Dental Institute in 2000. Mike likes to work in partnership with his patients to achieve long term stability and health.
He and his French wife have lived locally for the last 17 years and involve themselves in local activities such as golf, tennis, sailing, hiking and recently wine tasting! When in France skiing, canoeing and eating take precedence.
Lesley, our Practice Manager has been with the practice for over 25 years. A full member of the ADAM (the Association of dental administrators and managers), Lesley has devoted much time and effort to developing strategies to improve efficiency at the practice and enhance patient welfare. In 2006 she gained her diploma in the Strategic Management of Dental Care Services and maintains a programme of continuing professional development. She takes time out to take part in charity fund raising challenges. (See our Practice News page.)
Julie Allen (GDC No. 130416)
Julie Allen joined our nursing staff early in May this year. She has worked as a dental nurse since 2002
Maya, who joined us at the beginning of the year has worked as a dental nurse for 1 year and is currently working towards gaining her diploma in dental nursing. She is a single mum with 2 sons
Daisy Chesman (GDC No. 272579)
Daizy, who recently completed her training and is just become GDC registered, joined us in the middle of July.
Justine Fox (GDC No 4736)
Justine qualified as a dental hygienist in 1994. She works here on a part time basis
