On 14th May 2016 Practice Manager, Lesley took part in the 20th anniversary Moonwalk in London: an event which takes place annually and involves a marathon walk at midnight through the streets of our capital to raise money in aid of breast cancer. She raised over £500.
Over the past few years members of the practice have raised over £15,000 for charitable causes:
On Sept. 16th 2015 dental nurse, Nic took part in the Great North Run. Nic completed the course in a creditable 2Hrs 21mins and raised £517 for Rainbows Children’s Hospice (Reg. Charity No. 2742297)
Following on from her trek along the Great Wall of China in 2007 and Cambodian Community Challenge 3 years later for which she raised a combined total of over £8000 for Scope, in 2014 Lesley completed another epic challenge. This involved 4 days trekking in the Sahara in temperatures ranging from 0 – 40 degrees centigrade. This was followed by 2 days work on a community project in Marrakech and resulted in her raising over £3,000 for LOROS Hospice (Reg. Charity No. 506120), a local charity which every year cares for over 2,500 people across Leicestershire and Rutland.
In 2013 the ladies of the practice took part in the Race for Life with the aim of raising at least £300. Our final total exceeded £600.
On 12th August 2012, practice manager, Lesley and hygienist Barbara completed a 20 mile hike along Hadrian’s Wall in aid of the Help for Heroes charity. Between them, with the help and support of our patients, they managed to raise £900.
